Back in the Saddle

So, it's no secret that I've been semi-retired from photoing for several months. Since photography for me is an elaborate hobby rather than a profession, I've had to focus on other things.

I still get the occasional request to make some photos for friends and family, but I've had to be selective about which of those I do in order to guard my time. However, my bother-in-law is getting married, so he asked me to do some engagements and bridals.

In the spirit of posting anything on this blog just to get some content out there, here are a few from the last couple sessions with Chase and Taylor.

The Candid Frame

For those looking for inspiration and education from other photographers, I highly recommend The Candid Frame.

It is a blog/podcast presented by Ibarionex R. Perello, in which he interviews photographers from all disciplines. The list of names is impressive, and includes photographers such as Chase Jarvis, Douglas Kirkland, Dan Winters, and Greg Gorman, to name just a few.

The interviews are posted every two weeks and average about 45 minutes each.

Best of 2008

"Best" is obviously a subjective term that I use very loosely here. These aren't the best because they are technically sound or beautifully composed images. However, each represents a situation where I tried something that stretched my comfort zone and helped me grow in ability and confidence. I hope you enjoy at least one, and any feedback is always appreciated.
